Special feature on spots where you can enjoy the great nature of Gunma

These days, you can feel the signs of winter as you step on the fallen leaves. Even in Ikaho, the mornings and evenings are getting colder day by day, making us realize that winter has arrived.

Autumn and winter in Gunma, where you can be enjoyed in different ways throughout the four seasons, are seasons where you can enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery of the year. This time, we would like to introduce two spots where you can feel the great outdoors that you should visit on your trip to Gunma.

1. Onioshidashi park

In 1783, Mt. Asama, Gunma Prefecture’s representative mountain, experienced a historic eruption. It is said that the name came from the fact that the large amount of pyroclastic flow and lava flow that erupted at that time looked like something pushed out by a demon living on Mt. Asama.

The lava that flowed out during the eruption is spread throughout the park, and you can tour several courses while enjoying the seasonal flowers.
There is also a service where you can take guided tours for free inside the park. You can learn about the origin of Onioshidashi and its buildings.
Location / Kamahara 1053, Tsumagoi village, Agatsuma district, Gunma prefecture.
Business hours / 8:00-16:30
Admission fee / \650 at junior high school students and above

2. Mt. Haruna / Lake Haruna

Lake Haruna, which was created by volcanic activity, is located around Mt. Haruna, one of the three Jomo Sanzan mountains. It is a popular tourist destination in Gunma Prefecture as a spot where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and nature of each season.
In autumn, the entire mountain area is beautifully colored with autumn leaves, which are reflected vividly on the surface of the lake. In addition, an illumination event is held every winter. The area around the lake is illuminated with approximately 500,000 light bulbs, creating a fantastical world.
